SEASON: A letter to the future - recenzja gry

Season: A Letter to the Future is a breathtaking, cozy exploration game that blends narrative, photography, sound recording, and journaling into one meditative experience. Set in a mysterious world shaped by distinct eras known as "seasons," humanity collectively loses all memory when one season ends and another begins. You play as a young woman who sets out on a journey to document the final days of the current season — capturing its essence through photos, recordings, sketches, and conversations.

Your goal is to preserve the knowledge, culture, and emotions of this fleeting time so that the next generation — living in a future season — may understand what once was. It’s an emotional and introspective journey, one that encourages you to slow down and truly observe the world and its people.

The story is deeply touching, the art direction is stunning, and the music is perfectly paired with the tone of the game. It’s a fairly short game, averaging around 7-10 hours, but it rewards curiosity. While some players reportedly finish it in 3–4 hours, I can’t imagine rushing through such a rich world — there’s just so much to explore, read, and feel.

A major highlight of the game is how you can build your own journal. You choose what to include — your photos, voice recordings, quotes from people you meet, and your thoughts. This level of creative freedom makes the journey feel deeply personal and reflective, turning your playthrough into a unique time capsule of the season you experienced...

If you enjoyed narrative-driven experiences like Lost Records or Clair Obscur, this will likely be one of your favorites of the year too.
